Known as garrafeira or frasqueira, these single-vintage wines are aged for a minimum of 20 years in cask and are made exclusively from classic ("recommended") varieties: Sercial, Verdelho, Boal, Malvasia, Terrantez, Moscatel, Bastardo or, most recently, Tinta Negra. They are the apotheosis of what madeira can attain.
